Just a quick sketch for now..sorry for the lack of posts. Things have been a little crazy lately. Some new paintings will be coming soon and my finished website.
Portrait of an up and coming music artist Drake. His mixtapes are the only thing that have been on my playlist for a while now. Definitely going to be one of the best in the hip hop/r&b game very soon. I even found myself watching some episodes of Degrassi (teen drama show on the N) which he starred in a while back..terrible I know. If you haven't heard his stuff download his latest mixtape: So Far Gone. You won't be disappointed. That's all for now. ROo!
This is an illustration I did based on Jamie Foxx's new album: Intuition. His music is going in a new direction, straying a bit from his traditional means of making music with just piano and vocals.
Did this while taking a break just listening to Ye's latest album 808's and Heartbreak.
Here's the initial drawing.
That's all for now..lots more to come soon..
Oh and it is amazing to be a new member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. Omega Psi Phi 'til the day I die. Thanks to all my family and friends for the support at the probate! Roo!
I was very excited to learn that one of my pieces made it into the 2009 Society of Illustrators Student Competition. This piece was a collaborative effort with a close friends/roommate and artist. It was also accepted into CMYK # 43 which will be coming out in March. This is quite an amazing and humbling experience. Congratulations to all other artist accepted especially the students of VCU!
I was also ecstatic to find out two of my other paintings were accepted into the Salon International 2009 Exhibition of the Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art. They will be displayed in the gallery in San Antonio, TX within the next few months.

I've been staying extremely busy with art and just life period, but I am truely blessed. There will be many more works to come soon. Thanks for checking it out. That's all for now! ..Peace..
This was an illustration done based off of an article dealing with a Jewish man trying to hide his religion to protect himself while going through customs. That's all for now. Thanks for looking.
It's been a little while, now that exams and everything are over with, it's time to get down to a lot of work. Just wanted to throw up some recent stuff. At the top is a small look at a personal painting I've been working on. More on the painting in it's entirety will be added when I can get an acceptable picture of it. The other two pieces are just more experimental with a the recent technique I've been using and ink with a little concept thrown in. Thanks for checking it out. Comments..crits..are welcome. That's all for now!
Just wanted to post this piece for the occasion. This piece touched on Obama and his young multicultural coalition. Had some great direction from my teacher Robert Meganck on this one. The day is finally here. November 4th. GO VOTE!
My roomate (Stanley Rayfield) and I along with fellow artists Danny Robbins, and Neal Iwan have a show coming up at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia. Opening night is October, 17 beginning at 7:00 p.m. If your anywhere in the area come by and check it out!
So, the first piece was about the 80's and certain trends and fashions making a comeback still working with this technique. The other two are quick sketches, practicing inking. Comments, criticism, everything is welcome. Thanks for checking in out..That's all for now!
A quick post of a portrait of my lovely mother, gotta couple more things to do to it, the final will be posted soon, and a few sketches. That's it for now!..
Ahh, so this past weekend both Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes passed away. So I figured I'd do a little something to commemorate them both. I did a sketch of Bernie Mac and a quick painting of Isaac Hayes...two great men, R.I.P. I need to get a better picture of the Isaac Hayes piece. I've also been working on some bigger paintings, so more to come soon. That's it for now!
