Society, Salon International, and more..

I was very excited to learn that one of my pieces made it into the 2009 Society of Illustrators Student Competition. This piece was a collaborative effort with a close friends/roommate and artist. It was also accepted into CMYK # 43 which will be coming out in March. This is quite an amazing and humbling experience. Congratulations to all other artist accepted especially the students of VCU!

I was also ecstatic to find out two of my other paintings were accepted into the Salon International 2009 Exhibition of the Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art. They will be displayed in the gallery in San Antonio, TX within the next few months.

..a couple pages from the sketchbook..

..progress of a painting I'm currently working on..

..an illustration assignment done on Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin..

I've been staying extremely busy with art and just life period, but I am truely blessed. There will be many more works to come soon. Thanks for checking it out. That's all for now! ..Peace..

Daaaaaaamn. Congratulations, dude. That salon exhibition sounds like a great start to a future career in painting. How did you find out about it?

The experimentation in the new painting is going to lead to some fun things. It is also going to give you a better understanding of what the impressionists were doing and how they used color.
